The original KF20 is such an icon of 20th-century industrial design that it is featured on the cover of the book Braun: Fifty Years of Design and Innovation. The coffee maker consists of an upper chamber with heating coil that boils water, covered by a smooth plastic cylindrical housing + black plastic band for paper filter below the water chamber. Removable glass carafe with black plastic handle that aligns with the filter handle and a base with a heating pad, connected to the top with two vertical chromed metal tubes.
